What is the difference between Solid and Engineered floors?

Solid Wood floors are made from planks milled from a single piece of timber, offering a classic, durable option for flooring. Historically, they were used for structural purposes, installed perpendicular to wooden support beams known as joists or bearers. Despite the rise in concrete subfloors and the growing popularity of Engineered flooring, Solid Wood floors remain a common and sought-after choice due to their thicker wear surface.

Engineered flooring, however, has gained traction for its versatility and ability to perform well over concrete subfloors. It is designed with multiple layers for added stability and resistance to moisture and temperature changes.

Factory Floors 2 U offers ¾” thick Engineered flooring with a wear layer as thick as traditional solid wood, giving you the durability of Solid Wood with the added benefits of Engineered construction.

What is the difference between Small Leaf Acacia and Wide Leaf Acacia floors?

Small Leaf Acacia flooring features highly dynamic and active wood grains, resulting in more noticeable color variations compared to Wide Leaf Acacia. Due to its high density, Small Leaf Acacia is also harder and more stable, making it a more durable option for your flooring needs. In contrast, Wide Leaf Acacia tends to have a more uniform appearance and is slightly less dense, offering a softer and more flexible option.

What types of transitions do you offer?

Factory Floors 2 U offers coordinating transitions for every flooring product in the following profiles: stair nose, reducer, baby threshold, t-mold, and quarter round.

Will you help install my floors?

Factory Floors 2 U does not provide any installation services, and we do not refer any installation companies.
